I am sure you have read me wax on several times about how much I love this convention. There are a million reasons why. For one, I love the drive to Albuquerque. I am fortunate to live a state away, and in between my house in Salt Lake City and the Marriott in Albuquerque is some of the prettiest land you will see. So when I can, I grab my daughters and make a trip of it. Tonight is Moab, tomorrow Monument Valley, and Wednesday Durango, before we mosey on in to ABQ on Thursday.
Once I am there, the in-room trading, presentations, interaction with Mattel, the next-year's new model lineup, the exclusives, and auction keep me coming back. Most importantly, hanging with a good bunch of folks makes it unmissable.
So expect a fair amount of Matchbox and Gathering coverage this week. I plan on posting quite a few videos on the Lamley Facebook Live feed, including the presentation and some the auction, and of course a load of photos on the Lamley Instagram page. Many of the photos and videos will end up here on the blog and on the YouTube Channel as well.
But all that is coming. For now, let's get ready.
Jim Gallegos, the show's founder and organizer, has released the agenda and Mattel Auction items, which can be found below. Those who are attending, prepare. Those who aren't, below is what you will miss.
